Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Stebson (ranked 198 p4p, 16 weight class) and Mark Kerr (ranked 485 p4p, 47 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Kerr was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kerr duly obliges. Stebson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kerr throws a jab when Stebson was well out of range. Kerr moves into the clinch. Kerr blocks a body shot from Stebson. Kerr is trying to pull guard but Stebson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Stebson lands a nice shot to the body. Kerr blocks an uppercut.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stebson. Kerr has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stebson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Stebson working aggressively here.

Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stebson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kerr scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Kerr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kerr won't allow Stebson to get back to his feet. Kerr is standing up over Stebson. Stebson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stebson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kerr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
