Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mister Island (ranked 1109 p4p, 138 weight class) and Tzwrtzos Peidis (ranked 1313 p4p, 160 weight class). Peidis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ΑΥΤΟ ΤΟ ΤΡΑΓΟΥ&. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mister Island! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tzwrtzos Peidis! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peidis misses with a hook. Island ducked under it nicely. Peidis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Island is landing a low percentage of strikes. Island fails to land the takedown. A nice side step and Peidis releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Island with a poor takedown and Peidis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Island decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Island seems to be working for a kimura but Peidis defends the submission attempt. Island is looking for a kimura but Peidis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Island to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Island is looking for a kimura here.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Island seems to be working for a kimura but Peidis defends the submission attempt. Peidis trying to hold on to Island's head to control him but Island postures up.

Island is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peidis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Island. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Island is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Peidis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Island is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Peidis is controlling Island's trapped leg to prevent Island from advancing to side control. Island is keen to just control but Peidis is a slippery customer. Island in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Peidis tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Island!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mister Island! A very excited looking Mister Island rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
