Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Average (ranked 4007 p4p, 522 weight class) and Dirk Diggler (ranked 4341 p4p, 553 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Average!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Diggler!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Average avoids a kick to the body.
Average avoids the head kick by Diggler.
Average listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Diggler loads up on a big right hand but Average slips the punch.
Average bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Diggler's head.
Average seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Diggler shoots in for a double leg but Average sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Diggler's coach down at The PIT Hawaiian Kempo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Diggler's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Average ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Diggler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Diggler there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Average has hold of Diggler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Diggler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Average has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Diggler has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diggler's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Average looking to control but Diggler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

You can see the frustration on Diggler's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Average is persistently looking for the submission but Diggler is defending it well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Diggler shoots in looking for a takedown. Average tries to sprawl out of it but Diggler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Average manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
