Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Luther (ranked 3127 p4p, 350 weight class) and Bernardo De Barros (ranked 2972 p4p, 334 weight class). Luther comes to the cage accompanied by Hokuto No Ken - You Wa Shock. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Barros looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
De Barros uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Luther.
De Barros with the counter takedown but Luther avoids it easily.
De Barros throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Luther was covering up waiting for the punch and De Barros finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Luther is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
De Barros thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Barros drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and De Barros jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Luther is trying to control but can't.

Luther is looking for a sweep. De Barros is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

De Barros is trying for a kimura here. Luther looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! De Barros wins by kimura!
