Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ross Barkley (ranked 1296 p4p, 131 weight class) and Sergey Korotkiy (ranked 1951 p4p, 200 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sergey Korotkiy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ross Barkley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Korotkiy! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barkley displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Korotkiy takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Barkley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Barkley throws a series of punches but Korotkiy moves out of range. Barkley fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Korotkiy on the side of the head. A punch combination from Barkley misses. Barkley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Korotkiy takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've been informed that Korotkiy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Barkley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Korotkiy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Korotkiy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Korotkiy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barkley misses with a few strikes there.
Korotkiy swats away the attempt to clinch by Barkley. Barkley is looking to clinch but Korotkiy is avoiding it.
Barkley leaves Korotkiy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barkley tries to clinch but Korotkiy moves out of range. Barkley scores with a sloppy right hand. Korotkiy should have avoided that one. Ross Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barkley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Korotkiy manages to avoid it. Korotkiy appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Korotkiy ducks under a wild hook from Barkley. Barkley is looking to clinch but Korotkiy is avoiding it.
Barkley lands with a right hand. Korotkiy takes one to the chin there.
Korotkiy is rocked! Barkley cracks Korotkiy with a left hook right on the temple and Korotkiy goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Barkley lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Korotkiy is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ross Barkley!
