Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dax Baxter (ranked 4328 p4p, 207 weight class) and Chief Waters (ranked 5498 p4p, 254 weight class). Chief Waters is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dax Baxter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Waters! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Waters takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Waters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baxter defends well and Waters ends up having to push Baxter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Baxter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Waters on his heels. He'll look to pass Waters's guard now, I'm sure. Waters is looking to stand up but Baxter isn't so interested in that idea. Waters is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Baxter trying to control but Waters is working from the bottom. Baxter passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Waters tries to get back to half guard but can't. Waters is not content to let Baxter control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baxter takes a little break here. Waters wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Baxter misses with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Waters prevents Baxter from improving position. Baxter in side control, throwing shots but Waters defends. Baxter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Baxter trying to control the action but Waters is working from the bottom. Baxter misses with the ground and pound. Baxter throws an elbow but Waters slips to the side and avoids it well. Baxter in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Baxter trying to control the position but Waters is working away. Baxter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Waters on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Waters showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Baxter.
Waters fails with a takedown attempt. Baxter swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Nice body punch from Baxter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baxter gets in close and instigates a clinch. Baxter has a couple of punches blocked by Waters.
Knees to the body from Baxter.
Waters is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Our sources have told us that Baxter has been working on his elbows in the gym. Dax Baxter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Waters. Waters blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Baxter lands a body punch. Baxter landing knees to the body.
Baxter is pressed up against the cage. Waters has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Baxter down to the mat. Baxter avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. A left and a right from Baxter both land. Nice combination. Dax Baxter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Baxter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Waters eats them both and turns towards Baxter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. This has been an exciting period of action! Baxter pushes Waters up against the cage in a clinch. Baxter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Waters's elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dax Baxter dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Baxter lands with a hook. Waters tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Baxter punishes Waters's body with a nice straight punch. Baxter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Waters can do to turn this around? Baxter clinches up against the cage. Baxter working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Baxter lands a left hand.
Waters goes for a takedown attempt but Baxter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Waters is defended easily by Baxter. Dax Baxter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Waters. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baxter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Baxter duly obliges.

Baxter digs a good body shot into Waters's ribs. Dax Baxter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Baxter throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Baxter has closed the distance and engaged Waters in a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Baxter. A head punch on the inside from Baxter fails to land. A head punch blocked on the inside by Waters. Baxter lands with a right to the head. Baxter misses with a body punch.
Waters breaks from the clinch.
Waters goes for a double leg but Baxter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Baxter continues to drive forward.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters fails with a takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baxter jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Baxter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Waters can do anything to dispel that myth. Baxter trying to control but Waters is working from the bottom. Baxter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Baxter trying to control but Waters is working from the bottom. Waters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baxter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baxter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Waters's head. Baxter slips nicely into half guard. Baxter is thwarting Waters's attempts to control the position. Baxter wants to take a breather but Waters is having none of it. Waters keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Waters is not content to let Baxter control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Waters has hold of Baxter's hands but Baxter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Baxter wants to take a breather but Waters is having none of it. Baxter is controlling the pace.
Waters wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Waters darts in looking for a takedown but Baxter gets double underhooks and turns Waters into the cage. Baxter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Baxter connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Baxter fails to land with a series of punches.

Dax Baxter dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Baxter scores with a nice head shot. Waters takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Baxter connects with a body shot. Waters closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baxter circles away. Nice body punch from Baxter. Baxter connects with a right hand. Waters shakes it off. Baxter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Waters doesn't seem bothered though. Baxter is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Waters shoots for a takedown but Baxter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A punch combination from Baxter misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baxter moves into range and clinches up with Waters. Baxter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Waters's elbow. Waters goes for a takedown attempt but Baxter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nope, Baxter circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baxter tries to avoid it but Waters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baxter to the ground. Baxter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Baxter is looking to counter punch. Waters dives in for a single leg takedown but Baxter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Baxter is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Waters takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Baxter scores with a jab to the body. Baxter moves into the clinch. Baxter lands a knee to the body.
Baxter lands with a short head shot on the inside. Baxter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Waters backwards. Baxter scores with a shot to the side of Waters's head. Baxter tries to work over Waters's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Baxter. Baxter lands a right hand. Baxter lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A short left from Baxter. Baxter scores with a shot to the side of Waters's head. Nice body punch from Baxter - that landed with a thud.

Baxter lands a shoulder strike. Waters is looking for a takedown. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Baxter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Waters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Waters shoots for a double leg takedown but Baxter sprawls well. He's pushed Waters's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Waters misses with a takedown attempt and Baxter counters with a left and a right that stings Waters. Baxter clinches up with Waters and pushes him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Baxter. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Baxter connects with a nasty looking knee right to Waters's face.
Baxter scores with an uppercut up the middle. Baxter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A left hand lands to the body for Baxter.
Baxter lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Chief Waters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Waters wants a takedown.
Baxter unloads a knee to the mid-section. Waters lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Baxter lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Baxter lands a nice elbow. Baxter landing knees to the body.
Waters takes a knee to the side of the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Dax Baxter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Baxter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
