The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goma Goma scores with a jab to the head.


It looks like Rebel Son has been cut.

Son moves into range and clinches up with Goma Goma.
Son is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Goma Goma pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Goma Goma breaks the clinch.

Goma Goma closes the distance and clinches.

Goma Goma escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Son takes the fight into the clinch.

Goma Goma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Goma Goma drives through and clinches with Son against the cage.
Goma Goma looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Goma Goma breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Son gets tackled into the cage by Goma Goma. Goma Goma maintains the clinch.
Goma Goma wants to get back to striking at distance but Son won't allow it.

Goma Goma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Goma Goma shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Son but Son pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Goma Goma clinches up against the cage.
Goma Goma tries to break the clinch but Son is controlling the position.

Son tries to score a body lock takedown but Goma Goma shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Goma Goma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Goma Goma closes the distance but Son moves to the side

and Son counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Goma Goma looks like he's trying to stand up.
Son working over Goma Goma with some ground and pound. Goma Goma looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Son seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Son landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Goma Goma wants to get back to his feet.
Son will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Goma Goma is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Son prevents Goma Goma from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Son connects with a nice short shot to Goma Goma's temple.
Son definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Goma Goma is trying to stand.
Goma Goma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Son. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Son is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Goma Goma tries to kick Son off but Son keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Son lands a nice short elbow.
Well, if Son is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Goma Goma can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goma Goma tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Son manages to move to mount!
Goma Goma is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Son fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Son won't let Goma Goma get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

BOOM! Son connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Son tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Goma Goma is still in real trouble! Can Son finish him?

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Son postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Goma Goma badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Son around the waist but Son pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Son is the winner by TKO! Son jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rebel Son!
Richard Goma Goma spoke after the fight, saying 'May sakit kasi ako ngayon araw na to...'.
