Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Johnston (ranked 1697 p4p, 186 weight class) and Frankie Ngannou (ranked 3074 p4p, 317 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnston might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Spiderbait- Black Betty. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Johnston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frankie Ngannou! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ngannou sizes up Johnston with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Ngannou paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Johnny Johnston has been cut. Ngannou works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ngannou fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Johnston is out of range. Ngannou thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnston if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnston avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ngannou throws a body shot but no joy. Ngannou checks a low kick from Johnston. Johnston digs a good hook to Ngannou's body.
Johnston misses with a wild body shot. Ngannou only half commits to the counter leg kick. Ngannou slips under a jab. Ngannou throws a right and a left that both miss. Johnston keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Frankie Ngannou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnston moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ngannou misses with an uppercut. Johnston saw that one coming. Johnston has managed to clinch.

Ngannou lands a body shot in the clinch.
Johnston tries to work over Ngannou's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ngannou tries for a takedown but Johnston manages to get underhooks.
Ngannou lands with a right to the head. Johnston lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ngannou or not. Ngannou is trying to push Johnston away but Johnston has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Johnston lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnston lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ngannou looks winded! Johnston is struggling to control the position. Johnston lands a hook to the side of the head. Johnston misses with a punch to the body.
Johnston manages to break the clinch.
Ngannou connects with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ngannou fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnston manages to avoid it. Johnston keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnston drops Ngannou with a left and a right! Oh, Ngannou is hurt - Johnston dives into side control looking to finish!
Ngannou is rocked!
It looks like Frankie Ngannou has been cut. Johnston happy to just control the position for now. Ngannou is still in real trouble! Can Johnston finish him? Johnston scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Ngannou is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Johnston can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Johnston! Johnny Johnston tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
