Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Marley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marley gets a takedown into half guard.
Diaz wants to control but Marley is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Diaz wants to get back to full guard.

Marley is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marley to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz is pressing down on Marley's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Marley wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Marley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Marley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marley has gone for a leg lock! Diaz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marley's guard.

Diaz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Marley has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Diaz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Marley has tightened it up now! Diaz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Eric Marley was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Nick Diaz had this to say: 'He punched me like a 6yrs old girl and he was running from me all time, then he wins. Am done with this shit, i cant take this anymore. Stockton everyone!!! and am done with this shit for real. '.
