PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Alfredo (ranked 7865 p4p, 656 weight class) and Adam Mohammed (ranked 7233 p4p, 634 weight class). Alfredo's entrance music is Despacito. A fine choice. The key to victory for Juan Alfredo has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alfredo misses with a head kick.
And Mohammed tries to counter it with a takedown but Alfredo pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Alfredo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mohammed quickly recovers to half guard.
Alfredo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mohammed keeps working.

Alfredo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mohammed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alfredo has managed to get both his arms back between Mohammed's legs - danger averted.

Mohammed is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mohammed throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alfredo wants to control from the top but Mohammed keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Alfredo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've been informed that Mohammed has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

and Mohammed decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alfredo's guard.

Let's hope that Mohammed has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mohammed postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Alfredo covers up, he's hurt! Mohammed keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Mohammed and the ref steps in to end the fight! Mohammed can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
