Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil The Phantom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Thrasher! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Phantom swats away the attempt to clinch by Thrasher. Thrasher doesn't manage to clinch there - The Phantom circles away.
Thrasher getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Thrasher moves into the clinch. Thrasher with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. The Phantom is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Thrasher pulls him back up using the underhooks. The Phantom takes a knee right on the jaw!

The Phantom is trying to drag Thrasher to the mat but Thrasher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil The Phantom. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Phantom takes a knee right on the jaw!

The Phantom goes for a takedown attempt but Thrasher pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Thrasher lands with a right hand. Thrasher throws a leg kick which misses The Phantom's front leg but catches the back leg as The Phantom tries to avoid it. Thrasher darts in and clinches The Phantom up against the cage. A short right from Thrasher on the inside. Thrasher connects with a knee to the head.

Thrasher lands an uppercut. Thrasher scores with a shoulder strike. The Phantom goes for a takedown attempt but Thrasher pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Good leg kick by Thrasher there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Thrasher lands a front kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The Phantom looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The Phantom misses with a head shot. Thrasher uses the momentum to regain guard. The Phantom throws and elbow that misses. Thrasher uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in The Phantom's guard. Nice move by Thrasher! Thrasher tries to stand but The Phantom is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Phantom wants to sweep here but Thrasher controlling him for the moment. The Phantom trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The Phantom looking for a sweep. Not yet The Phantom, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The Phantom looks for a takedown but Thrasher sprawls well. Thrasher throws a head kick that half lands.
Thrasher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A cross from Thrasher lands. The Phantom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thrasher is fending him off so far but The Phantom persists. Nope, Thrasher circles away and we're back to standing. The Phantom bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Thrasher regains half guard, as The Phantom was trying to land strikes. The Phantom thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thrasher's head. Thrasher is not content to let The Phantom control the position. The Phantom is nestled in close to Thrasher, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The Phantom with the ground and pound but Thrasher uses the opportunity to regain guard. Thrasher keeping full guard, as The Phantom tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Thrasher dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
No luck for The Phantom with that takedown attempt. Thrasher lands with a kick to the temple. The Phantom shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Thrasher pushes The Phantom away with a front kick. Nice body punch from Thrasher. The Phantom shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than The Phantom was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The Phantom unloads with some shots from mount but Thrasher bucks and avoids them well.
Thrasher is trying to get back to his feet but can't. The Phantom has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Thrasher's face.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The Phantom putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The Phantom working Thrasher over with strikes here. The Phantom is landing with some decent strikes but Thrasher is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The referee warns Thrasher that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
