The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cathaway cracks the inside of Sanna's front leg.
Sanna moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sanna throws a head kick but Cathaway moves out of range.
Sanna throws a head kick that misses.
Cathaway misses with a low kick.
Cathaway connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sanna throws a series of punches but Cathaway avoids them all with ease.
Sanna drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sanna looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sanna scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
A slapping leg kick lands for Cathaway.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sanna throws a hook to the side of Cathaway's head but Cathaway sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Cathaway was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Cathaway tries to work over Sanna's front leg with a kick but Sanna checks it.
Cathaway throws a big shot that misses.
Cathaway keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sanna.
Cathaway checks a low kick from Sanna.
Cathaway feints a counter leg kick.
The fighters circling - Sanna throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cathaway throws a jab but it's blocked by Sanna.
Sanna uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cathaway.
Michael Sanna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Sanna is predictable there
and Cathaway counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cathaway thuds his right hand into Sanna's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sanna.
Sanna looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cathaway tries a quick counter leg kick but Sanna is wise to it.
Sanna gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Cathaway gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Sanna is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
