Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Bison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor Young! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young shoots for a takedown but Bison saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tony Bison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Young tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bison sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Young somewhat. Bison gets tackled into the cage by Young. Young maintains the clinch. Bison landing knees to the body.
Bison is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Bison lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Bison is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Young is defending well for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bison lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Trevor Young has been cut. Bison lands a knee to the head.
Bison using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Young has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Young is trying to pull guard but Bison turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Tony Bison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Young. Bison dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Young wants to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bison gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Knees to the body from Bison.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Bison. Come on Bison - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Bison comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Young is looking to take this one to the mat. Bison landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Bison putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Young in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Bison obliges. Young looks winded! Bison lands a nice elbow from the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Young's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bison working the clinch nicely. Young is working for position but Bison cracks him with a big knee to the head! Young crumples up against the cage and Bison lands two more shots before the ref can save Young! This one is all over!
