Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carmine Turturro (ranked 23780 p4p, 353 weight class) and Gabriel Ward (ranked 23076 p4p, 345 weight class). Gabriel Ward will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carmine Turturro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Ward! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Turturro as he jumps to the side. Turturro attempts a counter takedown but Ward avoids it well and moves away. Turturro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Turturro is figuring out what he wants to do next. Turturro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Still in half guard, Turturro seems content to control. Turturro is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ward defends it well. Turturro is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward tries to roll over but Turturro keeps him under control. Turturro works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward tries to improve position but can't. Ward gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Turturro goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ward is on top in guard.
Ward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turturro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Turturro pulls Ward in close to his closed guard and prevents Ward from doing any damage or advancing position. Turturro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Turturro lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Turturro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Turturro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Turturro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Turturro slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Turturro tries for a kimura but Ward is defending well. Turturro controlling the position from side mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Turturro is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Turturro is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Turturro controlling his opponent. Turturro wants to finish this one by submission but Ward is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Turturro. Ward keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ward is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turturro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ward keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Turturro is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ward can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ward tries to hold on but Turturro pushes him away. Turturro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ward is wriggling around trying to escape.
Turturro content just to control the position here. Turturro looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Turturro controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carmine Turturro dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Turturro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ward was covering up waiting for the punch and Turturro finishes the takedown easily into guard. Turturro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ward has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Turturro has managed to get both his arms back between Ward's legs - danger averted. Ward had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Turturro defends it easily. Turturro stands and throws Ward's legs to the side, diving into side control. Turturro moves into full mount! Turturro wants to take his opponent's back but Ward doesn't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turturro content just to control the position here. Turturro works his way to his opponent's back.
Turturro is cranking Ward's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Ward! He's tightened the choke and Ward is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carmine Turturro! After the fight, Carmine Turturro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
