Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teninch Dickson (ranked 857 p4p, 100 weight class) and John Brown (ranked 2413 p4p, 289 weight class). Brown has chosen Talk That Shit as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Teninch Dickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, John Brown! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Dickson wants to improve his position but Brown is controlling well.
Dickson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dickson. Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Dickson has wrist control. Dickson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dickson controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brown sitting in guard, not really doing much. Brown loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dickson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there. Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Dickson has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown throws an elbow that misses. Dickson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brown's guard. Nice move by Dickson!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brown pulls Dickson in to control the position. Dickson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Brown is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Dickson trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. Brown bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dickson's guard. Dickson keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully. Dickson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Dickson has wrist control. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brown trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dickson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Dickson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Dickson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there. Brown is looking to work some ground and pound but Dickson has wrist control. Brown postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. We've been told by Dickson's head coaches at Xtreme Fighting Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dickson tried to score with a low kick but Brown checks it. A little jabbing left from Brown on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A combination from Brown does no damage. Dickson blocks a head kick by Brown.
Brown fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dickson is looking to counter punch. Brown pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dickson back to the cage. Brown follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Dickson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brown is looking for the big counter here. Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Dickson moves out of range easily. A quick step to the side and Dickson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dickson tries to sprawl but Brown drives through with a takedown into half guard. Dickson trying to control from the bottom.
Brown thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dickson trying to control but Brown postures up.
Dickson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Brown throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dickson to regain full guard. Brown missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dickson trying to keep a closed guard but Brown is proving a slippery customer.

John Brown dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dickson cracks Brown with a good jab. John Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dickson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dickson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Dickson sets himself, and Brown steps forward looking for the clinch! Dickson avoids it this time. Dickson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dickson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Brown's sensitive parts. Brown swings for the body but Dickson moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dickson leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Brown throws a solid leg kick but Dickson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Brown is trying to control. Dickson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Brown thows a huge punch but Dickson dodges it nicely.
Dickson regains full guard. Nicely done. Dickson controlling the position. Brown scoring with punches to the head and body. Brown working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dickson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. John Brown has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dickson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Brown throws a big right hand that misses. Brown is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Brown trying to control but Dickson is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Brown gets the takedown into side control. Brown lands some shots froms side control. Dickson tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position. Dickson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Brown thows a huge punch but Dickson dodges it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brown slips a nice elbow through Dickson's hands, connecting with Dickson's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dickson is staying active underneath Brown, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Brown throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dickson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Brown controlling the pace. Brown is trying to control. Dickson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Brown scores with a jab to the body. Brown throws a leg kick and Dickson counters with a good low kick that Brown was not able to check. Brown thows a body kick. Dickson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dickson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Dickson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Brown shoots in and bounces Dickson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Brown throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Dickson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Brown gets the takedown into side control. Dickson is trying to improve his position. Brown creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Brown creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dickson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Brown works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown in the domination position with Dickson hanging on. Dickson is not content to let Brown control the position. The ground and pound from Brown seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Brown has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Dickson is trying to get back to half guard. Brown connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dickson some visible discomfort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dickson parries the strikes from Brown easily there. Brown is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dickson to escape.
Brown throws an elbow but Dickson slips to the side and avoids it well. Brown tries to score with some ground and pound. Dickson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Dickson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Brown throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Dickson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Brown working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
John Brown is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Dickson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Dickson is being controlled here. Dickson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Brown in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Brown misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dickson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I wouldn't like to be where Dickson is right now. Brown in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Brown working away. Dickson being controlled for a moment. Brown trying to control the position but Dickson is working away. Brown taking a breather here. Brown works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dickson wants to control but Brown postures up. Brown lands an elbow. Dickson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brown connects with a decent elbow. Teninch Dickson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dickson can't do much from the bottom here. Brown trying to control the position but Dickson is working away. Dickson is looking to reverse the position. Brown lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dickson is not content to let Brown control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! John Brown comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brown has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
