The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gaines on his heels. He'll look to pass Gaines's guard now, I'm sure.
Gaines looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gaines is trying to control the position but Castillo postures up.
Gaines has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Castillo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gaines throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Castillo slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Gaines.
Gaines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gaines throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gaines tries to kick Castillo off but Castillo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gaines is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Castillo pulls his head out easily.
Gaines wants to get back to his feet.
Gaines tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Castillo manages to move to mount!

Gaines tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Castillo with shots to the head and body - Gaines looks very uncomfortable down there.
Castillo looking to finish Gaines with some ground and pound. This is bad for Gaines!
Gaines wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Castillo is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Gaines is forced to tap! Great finish!
