Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John McGillicutty (ranked 7736 p4p, 648 weight class) and Pasha Mista (ranked 7908 p4p, 658 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McGillicutty might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Head Down. Mista is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gopnik Dance. John McGillicutty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John McGillicutty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pasha Mista! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGillicutty feints and then cracks Mista's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mista down. Mista lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mista jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mista ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McGillicutty moves away. McGillicutty closes the distance and clinches. McGillicutty misses with a hook from the clinch. McGillicutty manages to break the clinch.
Mista takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mista moves away from the strike by McGillicutty. McGillicutty throws a jab when Mista was well out of range. McGillicutty takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
McGillicutty tries a low kick but Mista avoids it. Mista takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGillicutty scores with a sloppy right hand. Mista should have avoided that one. Mista takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Mista tries to clinch there but McGillicutty circles away.
Mista lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Mista gets a double leg takedown into McGillicutty's guard. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mista manages to pass to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mista lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet.
McGillicutty's coaches at Russian Bears Training Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Mista is taking a breather. McGillicutty says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. McGillicutty is trying to stand.
Mista looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mista lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mista throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet. Mista is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mista is trying to control. McGillicutty wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mista connects with a nice short shot to McGillicutty's temple. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet. Mista takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. McGillicutty wants to get back to his feet.
McGillicutty is not content to let Mista control the position. McGillicutty on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGillicutty tries to get out of the position. McGillicutty is looking to get back to is feet but Mista passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mista landing strikes. McGillicutty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mista on the ground. Mista is looking to take a break and control but McGillicutty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mista is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. McGillicutty is trying to escape and Mista transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and McGillicutty is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mista! Very nice indeed!
