Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vladamir Slamenkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brian Chapel ! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slamenkov as he avoids it easily. Chapel throws a low kick but Slamenkov avoids it. Chapel drives through and clinches with Slamenkov against the cage.
Chapel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Slamenkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chapel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slamenkov.
Chapel closes the distance and pushes Slamenkov back into the cage. Slamenkov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Slamenkov misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slamenkov tightens his grip and picks Chapel up, before dumping him to the ground. Chapel manages to land in guard. Slamenkov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chapel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slamenkov has managed to get both his arms back between Chapel 's legs - danger averted. Slamenkov trying to control but Chapel is working from the bottom. Slamenkov stays in close to Chapel 's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapel controlling the position. Slamenkov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chapel 's guard. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Chapel is trying to control but can't.

Chapel wants to get back to his feet. Chapel tries to get to full guard but Slamenkov has control of the leg. Slamenkov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Slamenkov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chapel 's head. Slamenkov is trying to work for a kimura but Chapel is defending well.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Slamenkov darts in looking for a takedown but Chapel gets double underhooks and turns Slamenkov into the cage. Vladamir Slamenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Slamenkov as Chapel shoots in. Vladamir Slamenkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Chapel . Chapel misses the shot to the body. Chapel just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromSlamenkov. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chapel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Slamenkov drops back looking for a leg! Chapel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chapel manages to kick Slamenkov off! Slamenkov jumps back into Chapel 's guard. Chapel looking to control.
Chapel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Slamenkov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chapel keeping moving, preventing Slamenkov from controlling successfully. Chapel throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Slamenkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Slamenkov throws a big right hand that misses. Chapel has his foot on Slamenkov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slamenkov works his way back into a safe position though. Chapel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chapel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slamenkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chapel keeping moving, preventing Slamenkov from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Slamenkov feints and as Chapel raises his hands in defense, Slamenkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Chapel has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Slamenkov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Chapel is breathing heavily. Slamenkov being controlled against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slamenkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Slamenkov goes for a double leg but Chapel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chapel continues to drive forward. No luck with that takedown attempt from Chapel . A left and a right from Chapel both land. Nice combination. Vladamir Slamenkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice shot by Chapel . Slamenkov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chapel on his heels. He'll look to pass Chapel 's guard now, I'm sure. Chapel keeping moving, preventing Slamenkov from controlling successfully. Chapel working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Slamenkov has passed into half guard!

Slamenkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chapel keeps working.

Slamenkov trying to control from half guard but Chapel is working away. Slamenkov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Chapel tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Slamenkov!
