Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean claude Sherk! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonny Bridge! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherk takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
It looks like Jean claude Sherk has been cut. Sherk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sherk performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bridge is looking to escape. Bridge wants to control but Sherk is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sherk looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sherk is working for a submission of some sort.
Bridge regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Sherk.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherk sitting in guard, not really doing much. Sherk looking to pass the guard. Bridge pushes Sherk off and scrambles back to his feet.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown but Bridge shows good takedown defense. Sherk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bridge's waist but Bridge gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sherk off to one side. Bridge lands a slapping body shot.
Jean claude Sherk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sherk is breathing heavily. Sherk looks for a takedown but Bridge sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean claude Sherk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sherk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bridge but Bridge pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bridge lands a nice looking body shot.

Sherk walks into a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Danga de danga de dang - Bridge scores with a four punch combination! Sherk takes the fight into the clinch. Sherk is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bridge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jonny Bridge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bridge, right into the meat.
Bridge thuds his shin into the meat of Sherk's side. A lazy left from Bridge finds it's target. Sherk gets the takedown into side control. Sherk controls the position. Bridge gets back to half guard. Sherk trying to control from half guard but Bridge is working away. Bridge is looking to improve his position.

Bridge tries to get to full guard but Sherk has control of the leg. Sherk is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bridge keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bridge wants to get back to his feet. Sherk is looking for a kimura here.

Jonny Bridge dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jean claude Sherk's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Bridge throws a combination. Sherk tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Bridge stuffs the takedown. Sherk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bridge as he jumps to the side. Sherk shoots in for a takedown but Bridge shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean claude Sherk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bridge scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bridge scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Sherk shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sherk was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sherk looking to control and managing it successfully. Bridge tries to hold on but Sherk pushes him away. Sherk is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bridge has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bridge! Sherk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sherk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bridge doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sherk is tightening it up a little... Bridge has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bridge reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bridge taps out! nice BJJ there by Sherk!
