1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Manny Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anthony shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Anthony seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Sanchez fails with the takedown and Anthony cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Anthony leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ike Anthony has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Anthony connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sanchez some visible discomfort.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sanchez for as long as he can get away with. Anthony drops back looking for a leg! Sanchez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sanchez manages to kick Anthony off! Anthony jumps back into Sanchez's guard. Anthony postures up and lands a big shot to Sanchez's brow. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Anthony sitting in guard here, content to control. Anthony continues to stall. More hug and hope from Anthony. Anthony content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Anthony drops back looking for a leg! Sanchez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sanchez manages to kick Anthony off! Anthony jumps back into Sanchez's guard. Sanchez is looking to sweep but instead, Anthony has passed into half guard.
Anthony is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanchez can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anthony seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Anthony content to control rather than advance. Anthony drops an elbow to the side of Sanchez's head. Anthony takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sanchez wants to control but Anthony is keeping busy.
Ike Anthony overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Anthony is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sanchez misses with a two punch combination.
Anthony takes the fight into the clinch. Anthony drags the fight down to the ground.
Anthony thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anthony swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anthony lands with a heel strike from the guard.

Sanchez is bucking up trying to escape but Anthony cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Anthony is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sanchez is surviving well by controlling Anthony's body position as best he can. Anthony working the ground and pound effectively.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Anthony landing shots from mount. Sanchez is in a horrible position here. Anthony smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Anthony takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Anthony is working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez frees his head quite easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anthony putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
