Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wife Beater (ranked 3018 p4p, 336 weight class) and Jimmy Del Mundo (ranked 3300 p4p, 353 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jimmy Del Mundo enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wife Beater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Del Mundo! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Del Mundo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Del Mundo missing with a left hand there. Beater was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Del Mundo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Del Mundo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Del Mundo moves into the clinch successfully.
Beater breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Beater bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Del Mundo's head backwards.
It looks like Jimmy Del Mundo has been cut. Beater dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Beater steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Del Mundo. Del Mundo fails in his attempt to clinch. Del Mundo pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Del Mundo tries to clinch there but Beater circles away.
Beater swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No luck for Del Mundo with that takedown attempt. Del Mundo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Beater to score with a decent uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Del Mundo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Beater connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Del Mundo scrambles back to his feet. Beater rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Del Mundo to counter with a crisp jab. Del Mundo ducks under a wild hook from Beater. Del Mundo looks to throw the jab but Beater is out of range. Beater throws a hook to the side of Del Mundo's head but Del Mundo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Beater jabs Del Mundo right on the nose. Del Mundo blinks but takes it well.
Del Mundo is rocked! Beater moves out of range as Del Mundo strikes. Del Mundo moves in looking to clinch but Beater pushes him off. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Del Mundo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Del Mundo scores with the left hand. Beater knows he should have avoided that one. Del Mundo gets the takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Del Mundo happy to just control the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Beater's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Beater is trying to escape the position but Del Mundo is controlling the position. Beater is looking for a sweep. Del Mundo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Beater tries to buck Del Mundo off but Del Mundo is having none of it. Del Mundo controls the position from side control. Beater tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Del Mundo staying calm. Beater is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Del Mundo has just dragged him back down to the mat. Del Mundo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Del Mundo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Del Mundo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Beater misses with a looping right. Beater misses with a double jab.
Beater throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Del Mundo on the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Del Mundo wants to clinch. Beater keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Del Mundo. Beater scores with a jab to the jaw. Del Mundo defending well as Beater loads up on a big left hand. It looks like Beater has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Beater is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Del Mundo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Del Mundo swings and misses with a shot to the body and Beater cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Beater circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Del Mundo to the canvas! Del Mundo doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Beater keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wife Beater! Our winner, Wife Beater, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
