Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Vierhoven! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Thay Budo! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vierhoven misses with a series of wild punches.
Vierhoven fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Budo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Budo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Vierhoven takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vierhoven takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Budo with a nice cross. Vierhoven is trying hard to land a takedown here. Budo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Vierhoven. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vierhoven doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Vierhoven with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Budo to score with a decent uppercut. Budo jabs at Vierhoven's body. Budo dips to his left and cracks Vierhoven with an uppercut! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Budo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Vierhoven is rocked! Vierhoven is aggressively charging in as Budo backs up avoiding any damage. Budo tosses out a jab and Vierhoven runs right into it face first! Vierhoven is out cold! Budo dropped down on all fours and is barking in Vierhoven's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thay Budo! A very excited looking Thay Budo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
