Khomeini shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Champion is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A left and a right from Champion both land. Nice combination.

Champion throws a series of punches but Khomeini avoids them all with ease.

Khomeini fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Champion checks it well.
Champion throws a right hand that Khomeini ducks under and follows up with a left that Khomeini also avoids with ease.

Champion rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khomeini moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Khomeini keeps the fight on the outside.
Champion misses with an uppercut. Khomeini saw that one coming.
Khomeini takes a kick to the side of the head.
Khomeini will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Champion throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A close round but Wilby Champion will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Champion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khomeini paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Champion takes the fight into the clinch.
Champion gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Khomeini.
Nice body punch from Champion - that landed with a thud.
Champion is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Khomeini can't fight it off and eventually Champion manages to take the fight to the floor. Khomeini looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Khomeini looking to hit a scissor sweep but Champion is one step ahead there.
Khomeini throws his legs up looking for a submission but Champion uses it to pass to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Champion decides to stand back up. Champion steps back and let's Khomeini get back to his feet.

Khomeini moves out of range of the leg kick from Champion.
Champion scores with a nice right hand.
Khomeini changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Champion tries to avoid it but Khomeini manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Champion to the ground. Champion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Khomeini counters with a nice uppercut.
Champion connects with a nice looking jab.
Champion tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Khomeini is able to avoid easily.

Khomeini moves out of range of the strikes.
Ayatollah Khomeini is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Champion tries to clinch up
and Khomeini counters with a series of strikes. Champion will be more careful next time no doubt.
Khomeini feints and as Champion raises his hands in defense, Khomeini changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Champion controls Khomeini momentarily but Khomeini frees himself.
Khomeini drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Champion dives on top into guard.
Champion stands and throws Khomeini's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Champion tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Champion has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Champion is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Champion has hold of Khomeini's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Khomeini seems comfortable defending it but Champion has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Khomeini is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Khomeini is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Champion couldn't care less - he's delighted!
