Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lisandro Avellaneda (ranked 25413 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Lee (ranked 8426 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lisandro Avellaneda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Lee! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee rushes Avellaneda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Avellaneda pulls guard effortlessly. Avellaneda preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Lee wants to control from the top but Avellaneda keeps moving. Avellaneda lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Lee controlling Avellaneda's posture. Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Avellaneda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avellaneda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avellaneda wanted to stand there but Lee had control of the position. Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lee is trying to keep Avellaneda in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Avellaneda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Avellaneda with a flurry of punches that miss. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Avellaneda fails with a takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Lee. Avellaneda darts in looking for a takedown but Lee gets double underhooks and turns Avellaneda into the cage. Avellaneda forces Lee back against the cage and clinches. Avellaneda manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Avellaneda wants to stand up but Lee is controlling him. Lee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Avellaneda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Avellaneda has his hands on Lee's head, controlling the position. Avellaneda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Avellaneda trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Avellaneda slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Avellaneda takes a little break here. Lee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Avellaneda trying to control the position but Lee is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Avellaneda fails with a takedown attempt. Lee shoots for a takedown but Avellaneda saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lee's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.

Avellaneda is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Avellaneda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Avellaneda's legs - danger averted. Lee preventing the sweep. Avellaneda is trying to keep Lee in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lee is looking to work some ground and pound but Avellaneda has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Avellaneda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lee with a lazy takedown attempt and Avellaneda counters with a two punch combo. Avellaneda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Avellaneda lands in his opponent's guard. Lee throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avellaneda wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving. Lee being controlled here, momentarily. Avellaneda trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lee is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Avellaneda pushing down on Lee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Avellaneda is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Lee on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Avellaneda keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Avellaneda passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lee! Lisandro Avellaneda dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Avellaneda throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range. Avellaneda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Avellaneda seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Avellaneda shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Avellaneda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lee drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Avellaneda defends it well. Lee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Avellaneda defends it nicely. Avellaneda takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lee tries to keep at a distance but Avellaneda has taken the fight into the clinch. Avellaneda wants to break free but Lee has control.

Avellaneda closes the distance and clinches. Avellaneda jumps guard but Lee stands there with Avellaneda around his waist. Avellaneda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lee takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Avellaneda fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lisandro Avellaneda. That's going to take a lot out of him. A bit of stalling here from Avellaneda.
Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lee clinches with his opponent.

Lee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Avellanedas head. Avellaneda tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Avellaneda. Avellaneda is looking for a counter combo. Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Avellaneda. Avellaneda shoots and misses and Lee counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Avellaneda slaps away a takedown attempt from Lee, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avellaneda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Avellaneda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Avellaneda is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lee shoots in for a takedown but Avellaneda shows good takedown defense. Avellaneda slips under a jab from Lee. Avellaneda throws a head kick that misses. Avellaneda swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lee clinches up against the cage. Avellaneda is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage. Avellaneda is trying to break the clinch but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A bit of stalling here from Lee.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Avellaneda walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Avellaneda shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard. Avellaneda throwing strikes but missing. Lee trying to keep a closed guard but Avellaneda is proving a slippery customer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lee keeping moving, preventing Avellaneda from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jason Lee. I think Avellaneda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
