2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Clark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Agu Nigeria! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clark staying out of range there. Nigeria gets a takedown into half guard. Clark is looking to improve his position.
Nigeria is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Clark keeping hold of Nigeria's head, controlling as best he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clark wants to control but Nigeria is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clark is trying to get back to full guard. Nigeria looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. It looks like Nigeria might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Nigeria is nestled in close to Clark, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nigeria is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Clark is concentrating on defense, preventing Nigeria from advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nigeria is figuring out what he wants to do next. Nigeria thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clark's head. Nigeria is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nigeria throws a leg kick that is checked and Clark counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Clark. Nigeria trying to keep a closed guard but Clark is proving a slippery customer.

Clark was covering up waiting for the punch and Nigeria finishes the takedown easily into guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Clark gets caught flat footed, as Nigeria shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Clark keeping moving, preventing Nigeria from controlling successfully. Nigeria looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Clark controlling the position. Clark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Clark avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Clark looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nigeria is one step ahead there. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Nigeria is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nigeria has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nigeria lands with a kick to the temple. Clark shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Clark closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nigeria quickly recovers to half guard. Clark seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nigeria does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! Nigeria is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clark's half guard. Clark is looking for a sweep.
