The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez shoots in for a double leg but Al Saadoun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Marquez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Al Saadoun sprawls well. Al Saadoun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marquez gets slowly back to his feet.
Marquez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Al Saadoun has time to react.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Marquez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

You can see the frustration on Marquez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've been hearing that Al Saadoun has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Marquez looks to land a combination but Al Saadoun avoids it well.
Al Saadoun shoots for a double leg takedown but Marquez sprawls well. He's pushed Al Saadoun's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Al Saadoun shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marquez's guard.

Al Saadoun stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Al Saadoun closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Al Saadoun wants to take a breather but Marquez is having none of it.
