PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elvis Bradshaw (ranked 8743 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hable Hublee (ranked 5926 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Elvis Bradshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hable Hublee!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hublee.
Hublee sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bradshaw is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bradshaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bradshaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bradshaw sneaks back into half guard.
Bradshaw tries to roll over but Hublee keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hublee is keen to just control but Bradshaw is a slippery customer.

Hublee is looking for a kimura here.
Hublee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bradshaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bradshaw is looking for a sweep. Hublee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hublee is controlling the pace.
Hublee wants to free his trapped foot but Bradshaw is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bradshaw tries to roll over but Hublee keeps him under control.
Bradshaw is working hard here to advance position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bradshaw trying to control but Hublee postures up.
Bradshaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hublee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bradshaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hublee is keen to just control but Bradshaw is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hublee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bradshaw wants to stand back up but Hublee manages to pass into side control.
Bradshaw is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hublee off and has taken his back!
Bradshaw trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Hublee doesn't escape.
Hublee covers up after that shot from Bradshaw.

Hublee trying to control the hands but Bradshaw breaks the grip.
Bradshaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
What can Hublee do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Hublee covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Bradshaw has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hublee has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bradshaw is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Hublee is defending well though. Bradshaw let's go of the attempt for now.

Bradshaw is persistently looking for the submission but Hublee is defending it well.
Hublee trying to get back to his feet but Bradshaw is in full control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bradshaw is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hublee has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Bradshaw gets caught napping as Hublee dives in and scores a takedown. Bradshaw manages to retain guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bradshaw is on top in guard.

Hublee wants to sweep but no luck.

Bradshaw controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bradshaw continues to stall.
Hublee pulls Bradshaw in close to his closed guard and prevents Bradshaw from doing any damage or advancing position.

Bradshaw wants to control from the top but Hublee keeps moving.

Hublee looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bradshaw controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bradshaw moves into range and clinches up with Hublee.
Hublee keeps control of Bradshaw as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Bradshaw tries to throw a body punch but Hublee avoids it by throwing Bradshaw back against the cage.
Bradshaw is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hublee pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bradshaw gets control of Hublee's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bradshaw will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Bradshaw looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hublee is one step ahead there.

Bradshaw is looking for a sweep.
Elvis Bradshaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hublee tries to move to mount but Bradshaw blocks the move with his legs.
Hublee is breathing heavily.
Bradshaw tries to buck Hublee off but Hublee is having none of it.

Bradshaw gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hublee is trying to control the action in half guard but Bradshaw is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bradshaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bradshaw makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bradshaw.
Hublee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bradshaw swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bradshaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Hublee tries to keep at a distance but Bradshaw has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bradshaw wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

and Hublee counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A head kick misses from Hublee.
Bradshaw tries to clinch there but Hublee circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bradshaw looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bradshaw passes Hublee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bradshaw thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hublee's head.
Hublee is trying to control but can't.
Bradshaw with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Hublee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bradshaw lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Still in half guard, Bradshaw seems content to control.
Bradshaw is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hublee can do to turn this around?
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bradshaw connects with a nice short shot to Hublee's temple.

Bradshaw working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Bradshaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hublee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bradshaw wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hublee, who protects the arm well.
Bradshaw misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Bradshaw slows the pace down.
Hublee tries to buck Bradshaw off but Bradshaw is having none of it.

Hublee is letting Bradshaw control him for a moment.

Bradshaw breaks from Hublee's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hublee in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Bradshaw lands a nice shot to the head.

Bradshaw looking for a guillotine from mount but Hublee is having none of it.
Bradshaw takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bradshaw, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
