Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bodonchar Munkhag (ranked 3270 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chael Ronnen (ranked 5406 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bodonchar Munkhag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Chael Ronnen!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronnen slips a straight right by Munkhag.
A little jabbing left from Ronnen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Munkhag closes the distance and clinches.
Ronnen blocks an elbow strike.
A bit of stalling here from Munkhag.
Munkhag blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ronnen tries for a takedown but Munkhag manages to get underhooks.
Ronnen swings wildly with an uppercut but Munkhag uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ronnen working aggressively here.
Munkhag really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Munkhag lands an elbow inside.

Ronnen tightens his grip and picks Munkhag up, before dumping him to the ground. Munkhag manages to land in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ronnen throws a big right hand that misses.

Munkhag is pulling down on Ronnen's head to control his posture.

Ronnen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ronnen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ronnen postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Munkhag is on top in guard.

Munkhag will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Munkhag controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ronnen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Munkhag. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Munkhag forces his way into half guard.
Ronnen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Munkhag's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Munkhag is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ronnen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Munkhag.

Ronnen wants to get back to his feet.

Munkhag is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Munkhag is looking for a kimura but Ronnen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Munkhag to get the leverage.

Munkhag is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ronnen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Munkhag.
Ronnen is looking to escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Munkhag is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Munkhag not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bodonchar Munkhag dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Munkhag tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ronnen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ronnen throws out a counter right but Munkhag avoids it with no problem.
Munkhag misses with an uppercut
and Ronnen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Munkhag waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ronnen.

Munkhag has taken the fight to the clinch.

Munkhag is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ronnen can do to turn this around?
Ronnen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ronnen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Munkhag can't fight it off and eventually Ronnen manages to take the fight to the floor. Munkhag looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Munkhag pushes a forearm under Ronnen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ronnen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bodonchar Munkhag!
