The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Niem gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Conlan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Conlan connects with a looping right hand.
Van Niem with a lazy takedown attempt
and Conlan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Van Niem misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Conlan to counter with a crisp jab.
Michael Conlan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anton Van Niem.

and Conlan counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Conlan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Niem looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Conlan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Conlan cracks Van Niem with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Conlan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

enabling Conlan to counter with a crisp jab.

Conlan cracks Van Niem with an open hand slap.
Van Niem is still on wobbly legs! Can Conlan finish him?
Van Niem closes the distance looking to clinch
and Conlan scores with a counter punch that sends Van Niem to the canvas! Conlan smells blood - he's punishing Van Niem with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Van Niem has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
