Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ollie Evans (ranked 7058 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Riise (ranked 4683 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, New Zealand National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ollie Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Riise! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riise pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Riise throws a body kick that misses and Evans moves into the clinch. Riise tries to land a knee to the head but Evans blocks with his arms.
Evans blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Evans pulls guard successfully.
Riise trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Evans is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Riise presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Evans on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes from Evans. Those never looked like landing. And Riise responds with a good body kick, but Evans manages to step out the way in time. Riise ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Evans moves away. Evans takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Riise gets caught flat footed, as Evans shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans postures up.
Riise looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Evans controls from within his opponent's guard. Evans stopping the sweep attempt from Riise. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Riise is on top in guard.
Riise trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom. Riise throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Evans is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Riise advances position into side control! Riise is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Evans is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Riise trying to control the position but Evans is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riise postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Evans pushes Riise away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Riise gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Evans dodges the ground and pound from Riise. Riise tries to move into full mount but can't pass Evans's legs. Evans looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Riise is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Evans bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Riise throws a wild body kick that Evans sees coming a mile off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans forces Riise back against the cage and clinches. Riise misses with some punches.
Riise letting Evans take a breather here. Riise throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Evans blocks it with crossed arms. Evans tries to pull guard but Riise won't allow it.
Riise is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Evans is defending well for now. Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Evans tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Riise throws a head kick that misses. Evans wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ollie Evans will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Riise connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Riise swivels and escapes. Evans clinches up against the cage. Riise has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Riise tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Riise slips a straight right by Evans. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riise throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A low kick from Riise misses and Evans connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Evans moves into range and clinches up with Riise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Riise gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Riise is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Riise changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Evans fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Riise misses with a leg kick. Riise misses with a low kick.
Riise looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Riise attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Evans misses with a takedown attempt - Riise sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ollie Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him. Evans wants to clinch up but Riise keeps it at a distance. Evans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Riise circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Riise defends it nicely. Riise will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Evans throws a big counter combination but Riise scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Evans throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riise sees it coming and avoids it easily. Riise tries a head kick but it misses.
Riise is looking to land body kicks. Riise is looking to slow Evans down with leg kicks. Riise throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Ollie Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Riise tries to land a front kick but Evans steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Riise scores with a leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riise lands a leg kick that knocks Evans off balance momentarily. Evans decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Riise manages to escape and get back to his feet! Riise pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Riise lands a head kick. Evans smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Evans rushes Riise and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Riise misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Evans.
Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Riise lands a nice looking kick to the body. Evans takes a step back to recover. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Riise throws a sloppy head kick and Evans moves out of range easily. Evans fails to land the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Riise throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Evans avoids the head kick by Riise.
Riise looks to land a body kick but Evans moved away. Evans lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Evans fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A combination from Evans does no damage. Riise appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Riise throws out a powerful jab. Riise misses with a body kick. Riise throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. As Riise tries to get set, Evans tries to push him back and clinch up but Riise manages to avoid the attempt. Evans tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Riise showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Riise tries to score a power double leg takedown but Evans sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Riise somewhat. Riise circles away from the clinch attempt.
Evans forces Riise back against the cage and clinches. Riise trying to control the position but instead, Evans has worked for underhooks and has pushed Riise into the cage. Evans breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Riise misses and Evans counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Riise throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Riise is trying to control the position but Evans postures up. Evans is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Evans trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Evans postures up.
Riise tries to land a sweep but no joy. Evans postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans gets to his feet. Riise looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Riise throws a leg kick which misses Evans's front leg but catches the back leg as Evans tries to avoid it. Riise tries to clinch up. Riise fails with an attempt to clinch.
Evans feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Evans wants to control from the top but Riise keeps moving. Riise is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Riise is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans stopping the sweep attempt from Riise. Riise is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Riise is stalling here. Evans is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Riise seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Evans has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Evans taking a breather here. Riise is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Evans off and has taken his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Evans is trying to get back to his feet but Riise has full control of the position and if anything, Evans has just worked his way into a worse spot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Evans covering up well under a barage of strikes. Riise missing with strikes. Evans is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Riise wants to control but Evans is keeping busy. Evans covering up well under a barage of strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Riise tries to keep control of the position but Evans is staying busy. Riise missing with strikes from the back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Evans staying busy and making it hard for Riise to control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ollie Evans. I think Evans has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
