Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Dayne (ranked 1878 p4p, 225 weight class) and James Howlett (ranked 1938 p4p, 230 weight class). Howlett has chosen Push as his entrance music. The key to victory for Arthur Dayne has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett shoots in for a takedown but Dayne shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dayne throws a series of punches but Howlett moves out of range.
Howlett has a takedown stuffed.
Dayne was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Arthur Dayne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Howlett.

Howlett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dayne sprawls well initially but Howlett persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Howlett might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Dayne's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Arthur Dayne will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Howlett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dayne looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Howlett scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dayne to see if he's OK.

Who's going to make the next move?

Howlett cracks Dayne with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

After winning the bout, James Howlett thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
