The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guidal shoots in and bounces Machida off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Machida looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Guidal controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Guidal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dick Guidal just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Machida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Machida looks for the body kick but Guidal saw that one coming.

Guidal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Guidal controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Guidal pushes down on Machida's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Guidal changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machida looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
