4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ali Zayed Abdulrakhman! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abdulrakhman misses with a two punch combination.
Gramaliauskas moves into the clinch. Abdulrakhman is looking for a takedown. Abdulrakhman blocks the elbow strike.
Gramaliauskas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Abdulrakhman after a bit of a struggle. Gramaliauskas decides to pull guard. Gramaliauskas has Abdulrakhman pulled in close to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gramaliauskas wants to free his trapped foot but Abdulrakhman is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gramaliauskas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Abdulrakhman. Abdulrakhman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Gramaliauskas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abdulrakhman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gramaliauskas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abdulrakhman keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abdulrakhman can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gramaliauskas is really struggling to control Abdulrakhman but he's trying to hold on to the position. Abdulrakhman is trying to improve his position. Gramaliauskas avoids the strikes from the bottom by Abdulrakhman.

Abdulrakhman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Abdulrakhman misses with a head shot. Gramaliauskas uses the momentum to regain guard. Gramaliauskas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Abdulrakhman controls the pace.

The fight stays on the outside here - Abdulrakhman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Abdulrakhman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Oskars Gramaliauskas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Abdulrakhman tries to stand and escape but Gramaliauskas is controlling the position. Gramaliauskas is staying active underneath Abdulrakhman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Abdulrakhman is looking to advance position but Gramaliauskas won't allow it. Abdulrakhman thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Abdulrakhman is looking to advance position but Gramaliauskas won't allow it.
