Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deshaun Williams (ranked 3336 p4p, 365 weight class) and Henkka Seppala (ranked 4839 p4p, 489 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Williams might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dr. Octagon - Earth People. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deshaun Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henkka Seppala! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Seppala. Williams does a little dance to reset his feet. Williams is looking to counter with a body kick. Seppala takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Seppala fails with the takedown. Williams takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. No luck with that takedown attempt from Seppala. Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Seppala paws at him with a jab and circles away. Seppala throws a hook but Williams avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seppala shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Deshaun Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henkka Seppala. Seppala closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Williams's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Seppala accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Seppala trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Seppala makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Williams seems keen to control Seppala's posture. Seppala with a flurry of punches that miss. Williams can't keep his opponent in guard - Seppala advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Seppala has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Seppala not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Williams blocking the ground and pound attempt from Seppala. Seppala tries to pass to full mount but Williams defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seppala throwing shots but Williams is blocking nicely. Williams is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Seppala's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Seppala's back! Williams is hanging on to Seppala's back as he tries to escape.
Seppala is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it. Decent striking displayed by Williams there. Williams misses with an uppercut. Seppala saw that one coming. This has been an exciting period of action! Williams throws a jab but it's blocked by Seppala. Seppala is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Seppala looks to throw the jab but Williams is out of range. It looked like Williams was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Seppala scores with a one two! Williams had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Williams. Seppala dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Seppala's head and hops out. Williams appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Williams moves out of range of the strikes. Williams fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Seppala shoots and misses and Williams counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Deshaun Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Seppala throws a push kick but Williams slaps the foot to one side. Seppala changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Seppala manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Seppala fails with a takedown attempt. Seppala looks winded! Seppala throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Henkka Seppala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Seppala shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Williams defends it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Seppala misses the shot to the body. Williams uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Seppala throws a wild body kick that Williams sees coming a mile off. Seppala changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Williams dodges the ground and pound from Seppala. Williams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Seppala off and has taken his back! Seppala wants to get back to his feet. Williams not allowing Seppala to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Deshaun Williams will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Seppala lands the left hand. Seppala throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Seppala shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense. Williams takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Seppala throws a low kick but it's checked well by Williams. Seppala keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Williams uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Seppala. Henkka Seppala seems to be getting the better of the standup. Williams connects with a good right hand that stumbles Seppala. Seppala circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Seppala darts in looking for a takedown but Williams gets double underhooks and turns Seppala into the cage. Seppala shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Seppala gets slowly back to his feet. Williams went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Deshaun Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henkka Seppala.

Williams scores with a decent looking hook. Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Seppala throws out the jab. Seppala lands a nice shot to the body.

Williams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Seppala lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Seppala throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Williams is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Seppala tries to work over Williams's front leg with a kick but Williams checks it. Seppala throws a lazy right hand but Williams sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Williams connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Williams's corner calls for a 1-2. Williams obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Williams looks to land a combination. Seppala sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Seppala throws out the jab. Seppala throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Williams misses with the combination.

Williams throws a leg kick which misses Seppala's front leg but catches the back leg as Seppala tries to avoid it. Williams uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Seppala. Seppala avoids the body shot from Williams.
Williams moves out of range as Seppala strikes. A head kick misses from Seppala. Williams drives through and clinches with Seppala against the cage.
Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Williams dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Seppala sees it coming and avoids it easily. Williams throws a solid leg kick but Seppala takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Williams. Seppala throws a head kick that misses and Williams counters with a nice body shot. Seppala fails to land the takedown. Seppala takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Williams stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Seppala misses with a takedown attempt and Williams counters with a stiff right hand. Williams stuns Seppala with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Oh, that's a big right hand from Williams and Seppala goes tumbling to the canvas! Williams follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Henkka Seppala has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seppala is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Deshaun Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Williams takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Williams prevents Seppala from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams gets to his feet - back to striking we go! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Seppala is defended easily by Williams. Seppala takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Williams with a body punch. A glancing blow. A left and a right from Seppala both land. Nice combination. Seppala throws a shot from downtown. Williams moves away and avoids it. Williams misses with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Seppala misses with a straight left. Seppala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.
Seppala throws a body shot but no joy. Seppala connects with an inside leg kick. Seppala manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Williams on his heels. He'll look to pass Williams's guard now, I'm sure. This has been an exciting period of action! Williams trying to control the position here. Williams keeping full guard, as Seppala tries to pass. Williams wants to stand and escape but Seppala is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Deshaun Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
