Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Robertson (ranked 3867 p4p, 425 weight class) and Shane Murphy (ranked 3644 p4p, 402 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenneth Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Robertson.
Murphy on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Murphy is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Robertson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Robertson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Robertson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Murphy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Robertson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robertson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Murphy for as long as he can get away with.

Murphy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Robertson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Robertson works to advance to full mount. Murphy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Murphy is in a horrible position here. Robertson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Robertson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Robertson prevents Murphy from getting the reversal.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

so Robertson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Murphy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robertson controls the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robertson stands up over Murphy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Murphy wants to get back to his feet but Robertson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Murphy is trying to control the position but Robertson postures up.
Robertson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Murphy is looking to stand up but Robertson isn't so interested in that idea.

Murphy is looking to cinch up a triangle. Robertson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Murphy's body to avoid the submission. Murphy has instead reached around Robertson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Murphy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
