Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luis Perez Saavedra (ranked 5859 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Sol (ranked 4130 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luis Perez Saavedra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Sol! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sol moves to clinch but Saavedra breaks away and Saavedra counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Saavedra avoids the head kick by Sol.
Saavedra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saavedra lands in his opponent's guard. Saavedra is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sol uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Saavedra doesn't manage to clinch there - Sol circles away.
Sol tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Saavedra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sol moves into the clinch successfully.
Sol looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Sol lands with a kick to the temple. Saavedra shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A head kick from Sol lands but Saavedra takes it in his stride. Sol is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Saavedra tries a head kick but it misses.
Saavedra gets a takedown into half guard. Saavedra looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sol looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saavedra seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Saavedra gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Sol tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Saavedra counters with a three punch combo that has Sol backing up. Sol nods at Saavedra to acknowledge the strikes. Dan Sol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sol lands with a slapping head kick. Saavedra lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sol looks winded! Saavedra moves into range and clinches up with Sol. Sol keeps control of Saavedra as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Saavedra has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Sol comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Saavedra fails to pull guard.
Saavedra swings wildly with an uppercut but Sol uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sol pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Sol manages to break the clinch.

Saavedra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sol paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Saavedra looking to score a takedown here. Sol is defending well but Saavedra drives through and ends up in Sol's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Saavedra stops Sol from standing up. Saavedra stands up and waves to Sol to follow him. Sol misses with a head kick.
Saavedra tries to clinch but Sol is having none of it. Saavedra keeps the fight on the outside. Saavedra drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sol can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Saavedra controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luis Perez Saavedra will probably get the nod. That's time! Saavedra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sol throws a head kick that misses. Sol lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Sol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Saavedra dives in and scores a takedown into Sol's guard. Saavedra distracts Sol with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Saavedra is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Saavedra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sol is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sol wants to stand up but Saavedra is controlling him. Saavedra with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sol is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saavedra scoring with punches to the head and body. Saavedra slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Saavedra cracks Sol with a big right hand but Sol just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Saavedra taking a breather here. Luis Perez Saavedra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sol is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Saavedra is trying to get an arm triangle but Sol is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saavedra cracks Sol with a big right hand but Sol just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Sol wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Saavedra is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saavedra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sol for as long as he can get away with. Saavedra has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saavedra fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sol squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Saavedra has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sol's face.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Saavedra raining down hammerfists from mount. Saavedra sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Perez Saavedra dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sol throws a sloppy head kick and Saavedra counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Saavedra. Saavedra working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Saavedra lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sol takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saavedra stops Sol from standing up. Saavedra sitting in guard here, content to control. Saavedra stands up from Sol's guard - Saavedra perhaps looking for a knockout. Sol misses with a head kick.
As Sol tries to get set, Saavedra tries to push him back and clinch up but Sol manages to avoid the attempt. Sol throws a sloppy head kick and Saavedra moves out of range easily. Saavedra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sol paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dan Sol seems to be getting the better of the standup. Saavedra is looking to clinch. Saavedra is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sol can do to turn this around? Sol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dan Sol is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Saavedra shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sol tries to kick Saavedra off in order to stand up. Saavedra Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saavedra decides to stand back up. Saavedra steps back and let's Sol get back to his feet. Sol throws a sloppy head kick and Saavedra moves out of range easily. Saavedra dives in and scores a takedown into Sol's guard. Saavedra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Saavedra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saavedra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saavedra distracts Sol with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sol can't keep his opponent in guard - Saavedra advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Sol on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Saavedra passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sol! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Saavedra content just to control the position here.
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Perez Saavedra showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saavedra, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
