Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Goodman (ranked 8456 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Bowie (ranked 5754 p4p, 564 weight class). Steven Bowie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Goodman circles away quickly and effectively.
Steven Bowie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Goodman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Goodman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bowie scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Goodman manages to mount him!
Goodman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Goodman lands a big shot there that rocks Bowie but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bowie is bucking up trying to escape but Goodman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bowie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You get the feeling that Bowie really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Bowie tries to hold on but Goodman pushes him away.
Goodman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Goodman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bowie has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Goodman has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Goodman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bowie to keep the fight standing.

Bowie wants to get up but he can't break Goodman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bowie wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Goodman's closed guard. He's half up but Goodman has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Goodman pivots and extends the arm, Bowie falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Goodman! Well done that man!
