Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joseph Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Starling!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starling catches Parker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Parker looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Parker decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Parker dives in and scores a takedown into Starling's guard.
Parker won't allow Starling to get back to his feet.

Parker stands up and waves to Starling to follow him.

Starling moves into the clinch.
Starling tries to pull guard but Parker forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Parker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Starling shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parker sprawls well. Parker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Starling gets slowly back to his feet.

Parker pushes Starling up against the cage in a clinch.

Parker breaks from the clinch.
Parker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Starling.
Joseph Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Starling.
Parker lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Jackson Starling has been cut.
Starling looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parker is fending him off so far but Starling persists. Nope, Parker circles away and we're back to standing.

Parker feints and as Starling raises his hands in defense, Parker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Parker gets to his feet. Starling looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Starling looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Parker stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Starling closes the distance and clinches.
Starling jumps guard but Parker stands there with Starling around his waist. Starling gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Parker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Parker moves into range and clinches up with Starling.
Starling swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Parker breaks from the clinch.

Parker cracks Starling with a big right hand and Starling goes down!


Starling is rocked!
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA New York inform us that Starling has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Parker stands up and waves to Starling to follow him.
Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Starling tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Starling to the ground. Starling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Starling looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Parker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Starling as he jumps to the side.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Parker shoots in and gets a takedown into Starling's guard.
Starling is still in real trouble! Can Parker finish him?

Parker gets to his feet - Starling follows without any prompting.
Starling seems to have recovered his senses.
Joseph Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Starling tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Starling to the ground. Starling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Parker gets a double leg takedown into Starling's guard.

Starling uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Parker connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Parker fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Starling to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Starling looks to clinch but Parker throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Starling taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Joseph Parker!
Joseph Parker took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I'm waiting for you, Olajide.'.
