Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Orval James (ranked 25382 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Daddy (ranked 3740 p4p, 380 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orval James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Daddy! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daddy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. James is not content to let Daddy control the position. James moves into full guard.
James is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Daddy stopping the sweep attempt from James. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James is striking but Daddy is not phased and passes to half guard. James gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. James seems keen to control Daddy's posture. Daddy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Daddy wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position. James punching from the bottom - just letting Daddy know he's still in a fight. Daddy throws a big elbow that misses. Daddy stays in close to James's body and controls the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.
James's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daddy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
James prevents Daddy from getting back to his feet. James controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Daddy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
James controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Daddy shoots in and gets a takedown into James's guard. James preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daddy throws a big right hand that misses. James pulls Daddy in close to his closed guard and prevents Daddy from doing any damage or advancing position. James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Daddy controls the pace. James has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. James throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Daddy wants to stand and escape but instead James has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. James controlling from the top position. James has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Daddy is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Daddy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! James not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. James pushing down on Daddy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Orval James dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
James shoots in for a takedown but Daddy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Daddy fails with an attempt to clinch.

James dives in and grabs Daddy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Daddy pushes down on James's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orval James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daddy wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daddy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daddy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Daddy is stalling in the full guard. Daddy wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. James is striking from the bottom but Daddy uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. James tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Daddy with the ground and pound but James uses the opportunity to regain guard. Daddy wants to stand but James is controlling his posture from full guard. Daddy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but James manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Daddy has James in his guard.
Daddy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Daddy being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. This is a sustained period of stalling by James. James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. James continues to hold on tight. Daddy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. James is aware though and is defending well. James slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. James seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Daddy for as long as he can get away with. James stands and steps away. Daddy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Daddy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in James's half guard. James pushes Daddy off and gets back to his feet. Daddy is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Daddy manages to escape and get back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James has managed to clinch.

James changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Daddy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Joe Daddy will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
James tries to clinch but Daddy moves out of range. Daddy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping James at a distance.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daddy tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daddy to the ground. Daddy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Daddy swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and James counters with a three punch combo that has Daddy backing up. Daddy nods at James to acknowledge the strikes. James shoots in but Daddy avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daddy moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. Daddy is pressed up against the cage. James has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Daddy down to the mat. Daddy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orval James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daddy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James takes a body punch but keeps moving. James tries for a takedown but Daddy circles away easily and Daddy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Daddy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. James keeping moving, preventing Daddy from controlling successfully. Daddy looking to sit in guard and control but James gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Daddy controlling James's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daddy being controlled here, momentarily. James decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Daddy, up you get! James fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daddy, pushing him back against the cage. Daddy successfully pulls guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James prevents Daddy from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Daddy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. As Daddy backs away, James returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Daddy tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center. Daddy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Excellent takedown into side control there by Daddy. James gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. James is pressing down on Daddy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Daddy throws a strike but James rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daddy being controlled here, momentarily. Daddy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. James controlling from the top position. James chips away with some ground and pound. James's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Joe Daddy. I think Daddy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
