Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Scanlan (ranked 5964 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 6088 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Scanlan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Doe! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scanlan feints and as Doe raises his hands in defense, Scanlan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Doe is wriggling around but Scanlan manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scanlan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scanlan scores with a couple of nice shots. Doe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Scanlan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scanlan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Doe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Scanlan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Doe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scanlan scores with a couple of nice shots. Scanlan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Scanlan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Scanlan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scanlan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Scanlan is trying for a kimura here. Doe looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Scanlan wins by kimura!
