Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scanlan feints and as Doe raises his hands in defense, Scanlan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Doe is wriggling around but Scanlan manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scanlan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scanlan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Doe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Scanlan.

Scanlan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Doe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Scanlan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Doe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scanlan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Scanlan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Scanlan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
