Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucien Holt (ranked 5970 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Ribeiro (ranked 5948 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro pushes Holt up against the cage in a clinch.
Holt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ribeiro walks away with a smile on his face. Holt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ribeiro throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Holt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ribeiro is in Holt's guard.
Ribeiro content to stall in guard here.
Ribeiro wants to pass the guard but Holt is keeping the position.
Holt throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ribeiro uses it to pass to side control.
Holt tries to improve position but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holt is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Holt is trying to work for a sweep but Ribeiro has mounted him!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ribeiro controlling his opponent.
Ribeiro lands a big shot there that rocks Holt but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ribeiro looking to control and managing it successfully.
Holt tries to control Ribeiro's body but Ribeiro pushes him off. Holt squirms to his side and now Ribeiro has his back!
Holt can't escape the position.
Holt covering up well and avoiding damage.
Ribeiro is hanging on to Holt's back as he tries to escape.
Holt is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ribeiro gets his way!
Ribeiro somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Holt is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Ribeiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ribeiro struggling to land strikes to the head as Holt covers up.
Holt trying to control the hands but Ribeiro breaks the grip.

Holt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ribeiro controlling well, preventing Holt from escaping the position.
Holt is breathing heavily.

Ribeiro gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Holt is rocked!
Ribeiro is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Oh Holt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ribeiro is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Holt defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Ribeiro. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Ribeiro controls the position.
Ribeiro drops a couple of huge strikes from the back position and Holt is in real trouble here! Ribeiro lands more strikes and the referee has to step in to end the fight! Ribeiro is delighted!
