Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lauro Turturro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Young Lad!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turturro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lad was covering up waiting for the punch and Turturro finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Turturro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Turturro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Turturro controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Turturro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lad swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Turturro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Turturro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lad keeping moving, preventing Turturro from controlling successfully.
Turturro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lad looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lad looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lad!
Turturro tries to control but Lad manages to take his back.
Lad controls the position.
Turturro breaks Lad's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Turturro wants to control from the top but Lad keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turturro drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Turturro as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Lad screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Turturro! Nice submission victory there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Lauro Turturro!
A very excited looking Lauro Turturro rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
