Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Shunsui Kyoraku (ranked 3455 p4p, 337 weight class) and Katuro Tisoaka (ranked 14449 p4p, 671 weight class). Tisoaka has chosen Festivo as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Katuro Tisoaka enters the ring!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 3 losses; Shunsui Kyoraku! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 5 losses; Katuro Tisoaka! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Tisoaka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kyoraku tries to counter with a takedown but Tisoaka is quick to defend against it. Tisoaka fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tisoaka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kyoraku is trying to defend but Tisoaka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kyoraku (0) vs (2) Tisoaka Kyoraku is refusing to be controlled, as Tisoaka sits in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kyoraku is controlling Tisoaka's trapped leg to prevent Tisoaka from advancing to side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Tisoaka is pressing down on Kyoraku's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kyoraku is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tisoaka looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Tisoaka is trying to control. Kyoraku wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kyoraku trying to hold on to Tisoaka's head to control him but Tisoaka postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tisoaka trying to mount his opponent but Kyoraku defends it. Tisoaka content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Let's hope that Tisoaka has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kyoraku is looking to control Tisoaka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kyoraku avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tisoaka sitting in guard, not really doing much. Tisoaka postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tisoaka trying to control but Kyoraku is working from the bottom. Tisoaka is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Tisoaka not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kyoraku keeping moving, preventing Tisoaka from controlling successfully.
That's five minutes gone in the round. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Tisoaka sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku is pulling down on Tisoaka's head to control his posture. Tisoaka trying to control but Kyoraku is working from the bottom. Tisoaka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kyoraku is keeping the position for now. Kyoraku seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Tisoaka is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku can't do much from the bottom here. Kyoraku tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tisoaka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Tisoaka is looking to take a break and control but Kyoraku is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Kyoraku's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku trying to remain calm as Tisoaka controls from the top position. Tisoaka's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. More stalling from Tisoaka. Tisoaka is looking to take a break and control but Kyoraku is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku tries to buck Tisoaka off but Tisoaka is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Kyoraku's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Tisoaka just content to control the position. Tisoaka tries to advance to mount but Kyoraku denies him.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Kyoraku is looking for a sweep. Kyoraku is not content to let Tisoaka control the position.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Tisoaka happy to just control the position for now. Tisoaka tries for a kimura but Kyoraku is defending well. Kyoraku regains half guard.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Tisoaka is keen to just control but Kyoraku is a slippery customer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tisoaka in particular looking to stall. Tisoaka is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kyoraku defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tisoaka tries to pass to full mount but Kyoraku defends it.
