The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chip scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Callaghan looking to score a takedown here. Chip is defending well but Callaghan drives through and ends up in Chip's guard.
Callaghan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chip trying to control the position.
Callaghan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Callaghan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Callaghan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Callaghan is working Chip over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Callaghan working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
