Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spank Crank (ranked 345 p4p, 55 weight class) and Frank Stein (ranked 427 p4p, 66 weight class). Stein has chosen Red - Falling Sky as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Frank Stein!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Crank throws out the jab.
Stein lands a glancing blow to the side of Crank's head.
Stein throws a quick inside leg kick.
Crank with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Stein scores with a jab.
Crank digs a good body shot into Stein's ribs.
Stein's corner calls for a 1-2. Stein obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Stein is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

It looks like Frank Stein has been cut.
Crank uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Stein.
Crank throws a jab but it's blocked by Stein.

Stein has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Crank looks to score with a jab to the body but Stein is just out of range.

Stein closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stein creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Stein.

It looks like Spank Crank has been cut.
Stein softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Stein can't find room to land a body shot as Crank controls the action.

Stein digs a right hand into Crank's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Crank's gas tank.

Crank has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Stein is trying to keep an underhook but Crank manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stein is controlling Crank's trapped leg to prevent Crank from advancing to side control.
Crank is thwarting Stein's attempts to control the position.

Stein has control of Crank's left arm, preventing Crank from doing any damage.

Crank with a flurry of punches that miss.
Crank wants to control from the top but Stein keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crank keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stein's head.

Stein seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stein trying to keep a closed guard but Crank is proving a slippery customer.
Crank has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Stein lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Crank takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Crank takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


That has opened up Frank Stein's cut even more.
Crank misses with a body shot.
Stein wants to counter with a clinch but Crank pushes him away.
Stein has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stein cracks Crank with a right hand to the side of the head.
Stein throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stein misses with a body shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Stein.
Stein smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stein loads up on a big right hand but Crank slips the punch.
Crank uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stein.

Crank drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Crank throws a strike aimed at the side of Stein's head but Stein avoids it well.

Stein is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Crank is controlling him well.
Stein managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Crank.
Crank misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spank Crank overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Frank Stein's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frank Stein's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
