Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
29 - 23 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gracie Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Afa Sila!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sila looks for a takedown but Allen sprawls well.
A big left from Allen misses.
Sila doesn't manage to clinch there - Allen circles away.
Sila has Allen up against the cage in a clinch.
Sila has Allen pressed against the cage, preventing Allen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sila is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Allen is defending well.
Sila is looking to take this one to the mat.
Gracie Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Afa Sila.
Allen tries to break free but Sila pushes him back against the cage.
Sila is working for takedown but Allen is calmly controlling the position for now.
Allen tries to circle away but Sila has him pinned against the cage.
Sila wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Allen working hard to break the clinch.
Sila is looking to take this one to the mat.
Allen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Allen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sila on the side of the head.
Sila shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Allen as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sila takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Allen clobbers Sila with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Allen stuffs the takedown attempt from Sila. Sila gets slowly back to his feet.
Allen cracks Sila with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sila looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Allen finish him?
Sila is rocked!
Sila looks to score with a jab to the body but Allen is just out of range.
Sila is still on wobbly legs! Can Allen finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A telegraphed right hand from Allen misses the target.
Allen knocks out Sila with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Allen before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Allen picks up the big W with a huge KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gracie Allen!
Gracie Allen very nearly forgot to thank KAISER Nutrition - Q160 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
