Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Kravac (ranked 1933 p4p, 277 weight class) and Kevin Garbutt (ranked 528 p4p, 84 weight class). Garbutt has chosen Saxon - Strong Arm of the Law as his entrance music. Kevin Garbutt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Samuel Kravac's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Kravac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Garbutt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kravac fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garbutt manages to avoid it.
Garbutt shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
We've been hearing reports that Kravac has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
No luck for Kravac with that takedown attempt.
Garbutt throws a leg kick but Kravac moved away.
Garbutt just misses with a punch to the body.
Garbutt tries to score with a low kick but Kravac moves his leg out of the way.
Garbutt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kravac. That did some damage!
Kravac moves out of range of the strikes.
Kravac blocks a leg kick.
Kravac appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Garbutt misses with a body kick.
Kravac drops down looking for a counter takedown but Garbutt sprawls and moves away.
Kravac misses with a looping right.
Kravac fails to land the takedown.
A countering left hand to the body from Garbutt misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garbutt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Garbutt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kravac takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kravac uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Garbutt.
Kravac fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garbutt manages to avoid it.
Garbutt looks like he wants to counter punch here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garbutt throws a leg kick but Kravac moved away.
Kravac throws a jab when Garbutt was well out of range.
Garbutt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kravac works Garbutt's body with a nice hook.

Garbutt closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kravac to the mat! Kravac manages to get full guard.
Garbutt passes Kravac's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Garbutt lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Garbutt scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Garbutt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kravac defending well though.
Kravac has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garbutt is working away from the top position though.
Nice strikes from Garbutt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kravac is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Garbutt scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kravac is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Garbutt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Garbutt's back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kravac looking for the choke but no joy.
I really don't envy Garbutt right now.
Kravac doesn't have the hooks in and Garbutt manages to turn into his guard.

Kravac escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garbutt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Garbutt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garbutt passes Kravac's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Garbutt lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kravac is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Garbutt pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Garbutt throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kravac blocking the ground and pound attempt from Garbutt.
Garbutt is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Garbutt connects with a nice short shot to Kravac's temple.
Garbutt is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Kravac is hurt! He's hurt bad - Garbutt fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Kravac from any more punishment! Congratulations to Garbutt! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kevin Garbutt!
A relieved looking Kevin Garbutt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
