Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahmed Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Pastor Troy- Just to Fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nigel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mahmed Hassan! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hassan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hassan stalling. Diaz manages to escape and get back to his feet! Diaz with a poor takedown and Hassan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Hassan counter with a right hand. Hassan just misses with a punch to the body.
Hassan cracks Diaz with an open hand slap. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hassan pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and Hassan moves out of range easily. Hassan lands a really nice looking cross but Diaz seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz with a lazy takedown attempt so Hassan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nigel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diaz keeping moving, preventing Hassan from controlling successfully. Hassan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hassan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz keeping full guard, as Hassan tries to pass. Hassan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hassan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hassan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diaz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hassan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hassan throws a nice looking combination but Diaz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hassan scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Diaz misses with a takedown and Hassan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. and Hassan counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Diaz wants to sweep but no luck. Diaz pulls Hassan in close to prevent any damage. Diaz looking for a triangle here. Hassan is fighting it but it looks tight! Diaz pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Hassan is tapping out - this one is all over!
