Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mak Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mak Man! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Vaughn! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man tries to clinch but Vaughn is having none of it. Vaughn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Man pinned against the cage. Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ricky Vaughn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Man looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Vaughn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Man sprawls well initially but Vaughn persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Man misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Man avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vaughn. Vaughn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Man is looking for a sweep. Vaughn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Man trying to hold on to Vaughn's head to control him but Vaughn postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vaughn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Vaughn controlling from the top position. Vaughn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Man keeping moving, preventing Vaughn from controlling successfully. Man really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. That's two minutes gone in the round. Man controls Vaughn momentarily but Vaughn frees himself. Man had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vaughn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Man Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vaughn's back instead. Man avoiding Vaughn 's attempts to control his hands. Vaughn is trying to shake Man off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Man won't be happy about giving up the dominant position. Vaughn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vaughn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Vaughn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Man! Vaughn looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vaughn looking to control and managing it successfully. Man gets back to half guard. Vaughn lands strikes from half guard. Man is looking to improve his position.
Man tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Vaughn has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Man can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. BOOM! Vaughn connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Vaughn sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Vaughn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Man looks a forlorn figure.

Vaughn sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vaughn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Man circles away. Vaughn closes the distance and clinches up with Man, looking for a takedown. Vaughn pushes Man against the cage but Man circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Man throws a head kick but Vaughn moves out of range.
Man tries for a takedown but Vaughn circles away easily and Vaughn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. No luck for Vaughn with that takedown attempt. Mak Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Vaughn. Man moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Man closes the distance and clinches up with Vaughn, looking for a takedown. Man pushes Vaughn against the cage but Vaughn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vaughn has his takedown stuffed and Man counters with a body kick that stops Vaughn in his tracks momentarily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Man. Vaughn shrugs it off though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vaughn wants to clinch and Man counters with a stiff right hand. Man connects with a high kick. Vaughn tries for a takedown but Man circles away easily and Man moves into the clinch. Man drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vaughn gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vaughn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Vaughn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Man gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Vaughn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Man is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Vaughn to the mat. Vaughn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vaughn can do anything to dispel that myth. Man postures up.
Man wants to control from the top but Vaughn keeps moving. Man working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vaughn wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Man content to stall in guard here. Vaughn has his hands on Man's head, controlling the position. Man will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Vaughn is trying to control the position but Man postures up. Man pushing down on Vaughn's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Vaughn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Man thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vaughn's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vaughn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Man postures up.

Man is looking for a triangle but Vaughn pushes his legs off easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mak Man will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Instead, Vaughn manages to get to full guard. Vaughn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vaughn keeping moving, preventing Man from controlling successfully.

Vaughn controlling Man's posture. Vaughn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Man manages to get himself to full guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ricky Vaughn just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vaughn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Vaughn tries to score with some ground and pound. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Man blocks a leg kick. Vaughn shoots in for a takedown but Man shows good takedown defense. Man shoots and misses and Vaughn counters with a shoot takedown. Man fights it but they end up in guard. Man has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vaughn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Vaughn is stalling in the full guard. Vaughn postures up.
Vaughn stays in close to Man's body and controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Vaughn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Vaughn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
