Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 293 p4p, 39 weight class) and John Brown (ranked 969 p4p, 125 weight class). Brown has chosen I Don’t Like as his entrance music. John Brown acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

39 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, John Brown! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Brown. Brown in side control, throwing shots but Anderson defends. Anderson parries the strikes from Brown easily there. Brown is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Anderson to escape.
Anderson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brown. Brown trying to control the action but Anderson is working from the bottom. Brown staying calm. Brown looks up at the clock and then as Anderson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Anderson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brown.
Anderson is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ground and pound from Brown seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Brown misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Brown creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Anderson is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brown sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Anderson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Anderson gets caught napping as Brown dives in and scores a takedown. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Anderson throws a leg kick which misses Brown's front leg but catches the back leg as Brown tries to avoid it. Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Anderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sparky Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Brown. Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Anderson sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Anderson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Anderson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anderson. The fighters circle momentarily. Anderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A looping hook to the body misses from Anderson. Brown does a little dance to reset his feet. Brown fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sparky Anderson is winning the standup battle so far. Brown works over Anderson's head and body with a nice combination. John Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brown scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That was a close second round but I would say that Sparky Anderson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anderson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Brown fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
